About
Bear Goldsmithing is a custom jewellery brand, founded by Alex Bär in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada, during his time studying at Nova Scotia College of Art & Design. While specializing in jewellery design and goldsmithing, Alex developed an love for handiwork in precious and semi-precious metals. His attention to detail, appreciation of gemstones, and fascination of precious metals combined to make the perfect storm of an artist who found his craft to pursue. When Alex moved back to his home province of Ontario, he began to make a name for himself as a hand-engraver, gaining first-hand professional experience working for the Toronto jewellery trade.

Alex has now grown into his Bear Goldsmithing brand, offering high-end custom jewellery. Specialities include: rings, engagement and wedding jewellery, and professional hand-engraving.

These are a couple of questions we like to consider when designing that customized piece of jewellery for you. We can repair that old piece of jewellery sitting in your jewellery box that needs a diamond replaced, the gold mended or the engraving re-done.
Vision
When creating my brand, I was deeply interested in visionary art, and the study of visionary experiences and states of mind. As an artist, part of my calling is to define imaginary objects from the other side of the mind, grasping for nuggets of beauty and bringing them to you in physical form. My goal is to create that piece that transports you to a place that is indescribable with words, in which one can just awe at.
